Daughter of the Brume
Born and raised in the squallor of the Brume she has been many things, a thief, a conscript for the chocobo cavalry, a sellsword, a mage. Though indebted to serve Ishgard in penance for a past crime in her time of need, such a leash has loosened over the years for the time she has served as one of Hilda's Hounds.Since the advent of the seventh umbral calamity, an incident leading to a heart shattering loss had driven her to her life's profession; voidsent hunting. Having taken up her old master's art, she now thrives as a wandering Red Mage, though as of late it is said she has been dabbling in darker arts beyond the vermillion, weaving strange new spells within.Ever has she remained versatile however, as her old skills with shortblades, knives and stealth also allow her to take a far more subtle role in the hunt if need be.Unbreaking, unrelenting, undeterred. Something dark stirs within her, burning, perlious is her path.Such is the path she walks, one of uncertainty. To protect that which she loves is paramount and she will stop at nothing to do so, even if it means certain death or worse.

◈ A conscripted mercenary from the squallor of the Brume bound by penance, she's since walked the path of a hunter and occultist. This penance that once bound her to Ishgard's service has since ended after an incident involving a grieving alchemist's substance known as Halcyon Days and the exile of an Inquisitor Nelothiarte.◈ She often wanders the world, seeking occult knowledge and hunting monsters, especially voidsent. An incident prior to the calamity drove her unto the hunt, to drive back the voidsent and other eldritch monsters that lurk in the dark. Though she has since mellowed, becoming more methodical in her craft.◈ The hunter is a known practictioner of the arts of Red Magic, though she is sometimes known to brandish more outlandish magics. Some say a recent incident awoke a stygian flame within her, though rumoured to be a Dark Knight in truth, she rarely speaks of it.◈ The Syndelaines are known to have once been nobility long before Viryen was born, banished to the Brume for undisclosed crimes. Of late, this has changed however, driven from the Brume by a recent incident, they now live out in Eastern Coerthas in the cold woods, though no effort has been made to reclaim their nobility.◈ In accordance with her prior penance, Viryen has been called upon for many campaigns to serve the Holy See. These fronts range far and wide, but the most noteable is her presence among the Ilsabard Contingent.
